Special Kids Center receives grant from Million Dollar Round Table Foundation

The Million Dollar Round Table, MDRT, Foundation recently awarded a $5,000 grant to Special Kids Therapy and Nursing Center for their Camp Ability program. Representing the MDRT Foundation, Marcus T. Henderson, Sr., LUTCF, of Henderson Financial Group, Inc. presented this grant to Special Kids on Saturday, April 8, at their 6th Annual Special Kids Race.

Camp Ability of Special Kids is a Christian, summer day camp for children and youth with special needs ages 6-25. The seven-week day camp is held during the months of June and July each year with the focus on Jesus Christ and serving each camper. Camp is designed to allow children with special needs to participate in an interactive, social, and fun environment. Camp Ability’s caring counselor staff emphasize children’s abilities rather than disabilities and finds ways for all campers to participate in activities.

“Camp is a ministry to these families that have so many other concerns to worry about,” says Stephanie Folkmann, director of development at Special Kids. “Our grant providers are vital in helping us provide a fun and interactive environment for the children during the summer that is also financially affordable to families.”

“It’s awesome to have the opportunity for Henderson Financial Group, Inc. and the MDRT Foundation to support such a wonderful organization as Special Kids. There’s nothing better than an organization doing good at the grassroots level for people who need it the most”, shares President/CEO and 26-year MDRT member, Marcus T. Henderson, Sr..

Through its global grants programs, the MDRT Foundation will award over $1 million in MDRT member-endorsed grants to more than 200 charitable organizations worldwide.
